This Fibro Thing

Went to the doctor for a follow up a couple days ago and he has now diagnosed me with Fibromyalga.  It was looking like I had RA last month since my blood work came back with a high RH factor.  Guess that was a false positive so as he did the pressure points and then after a good chat, he diagnosed the fibro.  He was a little perterbed with me cause I hadn't taken the med that he had prescribed the previous month.  Don'tcha love it when drs. give you that exasperated look??  I get that alot cause I make up my own mind how I want to proceed.  I should give them the benefit of the doubt cause they are only there to help the patient.  But I do know that drs also like to throw meds at you at high speed.  I work in a pharmacy, which actually has deterred me from wanting to take any meds if I can possibly avoid them.  But the doc says that this will help with the chronic pain and help me to get a restful sleep.  My thing is...I am tired enough already...I don't  need help to sleep!  But  the doc explained how it works for pain even though the med is not made for pain.  Weird, huh?  Anyway, I am going to give it a try even though drugs and I do not mix well most of the time...eventually.  I am so stubborn!  Hope everyone has a blessed day!

  1. Nothing wrong with proceeding with caution! Often doctors only know what the drug rep has told them about the medicine they are prescribing. And quite often, the "cure" sounds worse than the illness. But, sometimes if pain gets that bad, then trying the drug is the only course of action. I hope that they work well with minimal side effects!
